“I found a gold figure that looked like a troll. My sister found an old bone. We think it’s from a chicken“
Family guided tours
Join our knowledgeable teachers for a tour with the family. It takes 20-30 minutes, and concludes with an ‘Archaeology school”, where children can participate in a small scale excavation.
The tour is aimed at children aged about 5 to 12 years of age, but even younger ones are welcome. Bring robust clothing, suitable for the weather, since we will be outside.
Children’s exhibit and the Gold Motifs Workshop
We always have our “Gold Motifs Workshop” going, where children of all ages with adult assistance can make their own gold motif from a copy of the authentic carved stamps unearthed from the Uppåkra grounds. At the Uppåkra Archaeological Centre we are now working to develop a children’s exhibit.
We have children’s high chairs, sturdy bibs, as well as plastic plates and cutlery for the young ones. In our microwaves we can warm up the baby food that you bring along.
